OPERA

Ukrainian opera scene is represented by 3 oldest opera theatres in Ukraine: Kyiv National Opera of Ukraine https://www.opera.com.ua/en/, Odessa National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet http://opera.odessa.ua/en/ and Lviv National Opera http://opera.lviv.ua/en/ as well as opera theatres in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Dnipro. Ukrainian opera developed in last third of 19 th century. The oldest national opera is considered “Cossack beyond the Danube” 1863.

THEATRE

Roots of the first theatrical acts on the territory of Ukraine could be traced back to 11th century. Virsky's aim is to create dances that embrace historical Ukrainian dance traditions as well as dances that are innovative and forward-moving. Ukraine also has famous ballet dancers and performances as well as modern dance schools and troops.
